Manchester United’s Tuesday night was truly awful. The club lost their Champions League opener 2-1 away at PSV Eindhoven, but the game was overshadowed by an horrific injury suffered by Luke Shaw.
The club have confirmed that Shaw has a double fracture of the right leg, in a potentially season-ending injury.
The average recovery time post-operation for this type of injury is around four months, but after that comes months of rehabilitation and fitness work.
It really is a sickening injury. The young lad had been playing fantastic football all season and its absolutely heartbreaking for Shaw. Hopefully he’ll come back stronger than ever.
Not only is this a huge blow for club but also country as well. Its highly unlikely that he’ll feature at the European Championships this summer and all his attentions will now probably turn to playing football next season.
