Confirmed Man United XI vs Liverpool (Premier League, 2020)

Games against Liverpool are always closely contested and hard-fought. I fully expect today to be no different as the Red Devils will give their absolute all to become the first team to defeat the scousers this season.

Sure, that’s easier said than done and our chances haven’t been helped by injuries completely decimating the squad. There is no Scott McTominay or Paul Pogba – while Marcus Rashford also misses out with a back problem.

Either way, the confirmed Man United starting XI has been announced by the official Twitter account, and it seems like we’re playing a 3-5-2…

In goal, David de Gea obviously plays. No doubt our superstar Spaniard will be expecting a busy evening upon Merseyside.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka does play at right-back, with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and what looks to be Luke Shaw as three centre-halves. Brandon Williams plays in the left-back role.

Nemanja Matic has been pretty good of late and he’ll play at the base of midfield. Fred gets the nod, as does his Brazilian compatriot Andreas Pereira.

Anthony Martial has been tasked with leading the line, but he’ll have help – Daniel James. Perhaps playing two through the middle will cause Liverpool a different sort of problem than they were expecting…
