Manchester United host Southampton this evening, with a chance to move into the Premier League’s top three with a victory. Here is the confirmed Man United XI for the clash.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are playing some lovely stuff at the moment, though Southampton must not be taken lightly. This will be a serious test for the 20-time Premier League champions, make no mistake about that.
A victory here would be massive. It’d lift United into the Champions League places with three fixtures left, while our rivals are dropping points far more frequently than we are.
Anyway, the confirmed Man United XI has been named by the Baby Faced Assassin – and there are no prizes on offer for guessing the line-up that Solskjaer has picked.
In goal, David de Gea will continue. No doubt he’s expecting a busier afternoon than he’s had recently.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, while Luke Shaw plays over on the left-hand side. Harry Maguire wears the captain’s armband, with Victor Lindelof rounding off the back four.
Nemanja Matic sits at the midfield’s base as per usual. He’ll be tasked with mopping up and doing the dirty work, allowing the guys in front to do what they do best; attack. Bruno Fernandes will be the furthest-forward midfielder, with Paul Pogba playing too.
Anthony Martial will, of course, lead the line. Marcus Rashford will play off the left, while the in-form Mason Greenwood starts over on the right.
In terms of options from the bench, Solskjaer has plenty to call upon. From Odion Ighalo, to Fred and Scott McTominay, there are game-changers waiting in the wings should we need them.
Hopefully, this will be another routine three points for Ole’s Reds, though I’m expecting a difficult game this evening. Hopefully, we have enough firepower.
Come on boys!
