It’s the start of a new decade, and for Manchester United, it’s one that should be filled with hope for fans. The Old Trafford club feel like they’re heading in the right direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and a win today would put the 20-time Premier League champions within touching distance of the top four.
Arsenal away is never easy, despite the fact that Mikel Arteta’s side is struggling themselves. The Emirates has been a hit-and-miss hunting ground for United, though with the pace this team has on the counter, you’ll always fancy our chances at scoring at least one or two.
Anyway, the confirmed Man Utd XI vs Arsenal has been named, so let’s get right into it and take a look who Solskjaer has gone with.
Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Arsenal:
David de Gea keeps his place in goal and no doubt he’ll have a relatively busy afternoon against an excellent Arsenal attack.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays at right-back. He’ll be feeling fresh after some midweek rest. Luke Shaw gets the nod on the left-hand side of defence and I’m surprised Brandon Williams isn’t playing. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof make up the now customary back two.
Nemanja Matic will start in the continued absence of Scott McTominay. Fred will also play, however, there’s no place in the squad for Paul Pogba, who’s seemingly injured again…
Jesse Lingard has an exceptional record at The Emirates so it makes sense to start him in the #10 role. Daniel James will play off the right flank while Marcus Rashford starts over on the left. Anthony Martial leads the line.
