The confirmed Man Utd XI vs Brighton is in, with Ole Gunnar Solsjaer naming a strong side, albeit there are a couple of surprise inclusions…
The first thing to note is that the Baby Faced Assassin desperately needs three points here. With a loss or a draw, pressure will mount despite it only being the second Premier League game of the campaign.
Make no mistake about it, Brighton will provide a stern test, too. They’ll be up for it, perhaps even more so as they have a pretty good record against the Red Devils at The Amex…
Anyway, the team news has been confirmed by the official United Twitter account and I’ll be the first to admit I’m surprised that Eric Bailly isn’t starting…
Check out the confirmed Man Utd XI vs Brighton in full:
David de Gea does keep his place in goal, which was to be expected despite a quality performance from Dean Henderson in midweek.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back as he looks to build up those all-important fitness levels. Over on the left-hand side of defence, Luke Shaw plays. Harry Maguire captain’s the side, with Victor Lindelof starting alongside him.
There’s a place in the XI for Nemanja Matic, who’ll be tasked with mopping up and doing the dirty work. Paul Pogba is included despite a sub-par outing last weekend. Bruno Fernandes plays.
Anthony Martial needs a goal, with Solskjaer sticking with the Frenchman here. Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood both scored against Luton Town on Tuesday. Both will be hoping to bag another goal here.
Again, there’s plenty of fire-power on the bench should the manager need it. Here’s to hoping the starting line-up can get the job done, though.
