Well, the Man Utd XI vs Crystal Palace is in, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer springing a surprise or two for this one…
The Red Devils will be desperate to kick off their season with a victory. Any game at Old Trafford is one United need to be winning if they have genuine title aspirations.
Crystal Palace will present a stern test for the Baby Faced Assassin, though. They come into this one on the back of a pretty good victory last weekend.
As for United, they’ve a practically fully-fit squad to choose from. Solskjaer has sprung a surprise though, with Mason Greenwood starting this one alongside the bench. Donny van de Beek has also been named as a substitute.
Check out the confirmed Man Utd XI vs Crystal Palace here:
David de Gea does start in goal, beating out competition from Dean Henderson, who is named as a substitute.
Luke Shaw plays at left-back after recovering from an injury which ruled him out of United’s Europa League campaign. Over on the right-hand side, Timothy Fosu-Mensah gets the start ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. I’d imagine The Spider is tired or nursing an injury. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof is now the customary back two.
Scott McTominay starts in midfield, which is another mini-shock. Paul Pogba plays after recovering from COVID-19, with Bruno Fernandes starting just ahead of the midfield duo.
Daniel James has done enough to get the start over Greenwood, with Marcus Rashford playing over on the left. Anthony Martial does lead the line in a strong United team.
As for the bench, it’s jam-packed with quality. I reckon we’ll see Van de Beek at some point this evening, while Greenwood is there if we need a goal.
