The confirmed Man Utd XI for the game vs Everton tonight is in, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ringing the changes for this one…
Let’s not pretend that the Carabao Cup isn’t an excellent chance at some silverware, as it genuinely is a great opportunity for this Manchester United squad.
Sure, we’d all like to win a Premier League title, though getting that first taste of success would be massive for large portions of this side. Tonight’s game against Everton gives us a fantastic opportunity to make it into the final four.
The game itself is obviously going to be an extremely tricky one. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are back in form after stuttering over the last month or so. We’ll have to be at our absolute best to progress here.
Changes were always inevitable as it’s Solskjaer’s job to man-manage and protect this squad to the best of his abilities. In fact, nine changes have been made from our game against Leeds at the weekend, as the team news has now been confirmed.
Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Everton in full:
Dean Henderson always looked likely to come back into the team here, with David de Gea left at home and not even named amongst the substitutes.
Alex Telles starts in the left-back slot, while I’d hazard a guess at Axel Tuanzebe playing off the right-hand side of defence. Harry Maguire starts alongside Eric Bailly.
Nemanja Matic comes into the team in place of the injured Scott McTominay, while United are going for a diamond in midfield. Donny van de Beek gets a rare start, with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes also playing. This team is jam-packed with on-ball quality, creativity and class and I’m excited to see how they work together.
Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood feel like a great blend of youth and experience. Let’s hope the pair link up well and cause that Everton defence all sorts of problems.
In terms of substitutes, the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Fred are all options should the gaffer need them.
Come on you Reds!
