Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Fulham (Premier League away, 2020/21)

To return to the Premier League summit, Manchester United have to win their game vs Fulham away at Craven Cottage.

Make no mistake about it, this fixture won’t be a walk in the park for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils. Fulham are more than capable of playing some decent stuff on their day, so this Manchester United team will have to be at their best.

For Scott Parker and his squad, this game is a real chance to prove their worth. If United aren’t on it from minute one, the problems will quickly start to mount and that’s something you’d like to avoid in these tight-knit games.

Changes were always going to be made here, that much was obvious. Personally, I thought I’d see the gaffer switch things up a little bit more than he has, but it’s certainly nice to see some players given the opportunity to impress – particularly a certain striker from Uruguay.

Anyway, the confirmed team news is in so let’s get right into it…

Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Fulham in full:

David de Gea starts in between the sticks. Personally, I thought this was a Dean Henderson game all over, though you do understand why Solskjaer’s gone with his number one here.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka gets the nod at right-back, most notably due to the lack of any real competition. Luke Shaw starts in the left-back position. Harry Maguire plays and captain’s this United side, with Eric Bailly making up the back four.

The midfield three contains Fred at the base, which certainly signals United’s intent in this one. Both Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba start this must-win clash.

Edinson Cavani leads the line here, which always looked likely following Marcus Rashford’s poor game at the weekend. Mason Greenwood comes into the XI for a rare appearance, with Anthony Martial competing the side.
