The confirmed Man Utd XI vs PSG is now in, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly changing the formation.
Well, Manchester United’s Champions League opener is here. A trip to the French capital to take on Paris Saint-Germain is certainly a tough assignment, though. The task is made even harder when the 20-time Premier League champions are dealing with a mini injury-crisis…
Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly are missing defensively, while Mason Greenwood’s absence is also tough to take. As for Edinson Cavani, he’s seemingly still not ready for action.
Alas, a football game is always eleven vs eleven. When you’ve got a good squad of players like United have, you always have a chance, however slim…
Paul Pogba is on the bench, as is Donny van de Beek and new boy Facundo Pellistri. It feels deserved for Pogba, while harsh on Van de Beek. What a moment this is for Pellistri though. Anyway, let’s get into the starting line-up.

David de Gea does start after an excellent outing last time out against Newcastle.
It seems like United are opting for a back five here. Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, while an Alex Telles debut comes at left-back. Here’s where I’m concerned, the back three consists of the nervous Victor Lindelof, an Axel Tuanzebe starting his first game in a year and an out-of-position Luke Shaw. Yikes.
Fred plays, which I feel is fair. Another start for Scott McTominay is also warranted, though Nemanja Matic will undoubtedly be disappointed. Bruno Fernandes captains the Red Devils. What a moment for him!
Anthony Martial was always going to start as he’s banned domestically. He’ll have Marcus Rashford up there alongside him for company.
This side can do damage on the break. I just hope that at the other end, our boys can get the job done…
