The confirmed Man Utd XI for our all-important Premier League clash vs Southampton is now in…
It has been a poor week for the Red Devils, there’s no getting away from that fact. Manchester United have dropped five points, giving Manchester City full control of the title race.
However, now isn’t the time to get disheartened. Instead, we should use this as motivation to push on and show that we deserve to be in this title race. Tests don’t come much harder than Southampton, mind, who are an excellent side capable of beating anyone on their day.
Ralph Hasenhuttl has built a top squad, though this gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a real opportunity to prove his credentials as a manager. Particularly with the doubters crawling back out of the woodwork following two bad results on the bounce…
Anyway, the confirmed team news is now in, so let’s get right into it…
Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Southampton in full:
David de Gea was always going to start this one in between the sticks, on what will no doubt be a busy afternoon for our superstar Spaniard.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues to be the only option at right-back so he was certainly going to play here. Luke Shaw keeps his place in the left-back position. Harry Maguire gets the nod, as does Victor Lindelof.
Scott McTominay, fresh off some tummy ache, is fit enough to go in this one. Fred is involved from the get-go, as is Bruno Fernandes, who we’re going to need a massive performance from.
Edinson Cavani continues to lead the line. Don’t forget he scored two crackers against Southampton last time the sides met. Marcus Rashford plays off the left-wing, with Mason Greenwood starting over on the right-hand side of our attack.
