Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Watford (FA Cup, 2020/21)

The confirmed Man Utd XI vs Watford has now been named by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. with changes aplenty made.

Manchester United have the chance to bounce straight back in a cup competition. Following defeat to City on Wednesday, the Red Devils have a home game against Watford.

This fixture was probably always likely to be one earmarked for wholesale changes to be made. With big Premier League fixtures coming up, the Baby Faced Assassin has a job to not only win matches but also keep his senior players feeling fit and fresh.

Well, the team news is now in and we’re seeing a completely different side named for this one. The highlight? Handing the captain’s armband to none other than Scott McTominay!

Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Watford in full:

I’m pleased to see Dean Henderson given another chance to play in between the sticks here. David de Gea will take his place on the subs bench, though.

Brandon Williams makes a rare start in that right-back slot, with Alex Telles given the nod over on the left-hand side of defence. Eric Bailly is the senior figure across the back line, with Axel Tuanzebe partnering the Ivorian.

As mentioned earlier, McTominay is named as United’s captain here. He’ll sit at the base of our midfield. Solskjaer already told us that Donny van de Beek will play. Juan Mata is also included in the midfield.

Mason Greenwood does lead the line, with Daniel James presumably on his left and Jesse Lingard playing off the right-hand side of attack.

Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford sit amongst the subs, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof completely given this weekend off.
