After two weeks without it, our Red Devils are back. It’s now time to unveil the confirmed Man Utd XI vs West Brom, with a huge three points up for grabs.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for a victory here. With no Old Trafford win in the league this season, playing a team in the relegation zone feels like an excellent opportunity.
That said, it’d be foolish of United to underestimate their opponents. Our players have to be at their absolute best here, as Slaven Bilic’s side won’t simply roll over.
With injury problems left, right and centre, Solskjaer had a few key decisions to make. Choosing who to leave out and who to start is never easy, though he has had two weeks to ponder his XI during the international break.
First and foremost, it’s worth noting that Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood aren’t with the squad at all. Nobody knows why, though the latter was in training this week, which does make me worry somewhat.
That said, it’s still an extremely strong squad of players to choose from. You’d hope that, whatever team put out there, should have more than enough quality to get the job done. So let’s get right into it…
Confirmed Man Utd XI vs West Brom in full:
David de Gea was always going to start here, though I’d like to think he’ll have a quiet afternoon.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays at right-back and he too will be thinking he’ll be contributing in an attacking capacity more than a defensive one. Alex Telles plays in the left-back slot, making a full Premier League debut. The now-customary back two of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof start together.
Nemanja Matic plays at the base of the midfield as opposed to Scott McTominay. Fred will sit alongside Bruno Fernandes slightly higher up the field.
Anthony Martial leads the line, with Marcus Rashford on his left and Juan Mata to his right.
The likes of Axel Tuanzebe, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani are all on the bench should United need them. Hopefully, by that point, the job will already be done.
Come on boys!
