Confirmed Man Utd XI vs West Ham (FA Cup, 2020/21)

The confirmed Man Utd XI for their FA Cup encounter vs West Ham has now been named, with some surprising selections…

For what it’s worth, the FA Cup may well be Manchester United’s best shot at adding to the trophy cabinet this season. Hence why taking an in-form West Ham side wouldn’t be wise…

Credit where it’s due, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed his squad pretty well this season, keeping everyone fit for the most part.

Rotation is necessary. That much is obvious. It’s about getting the balance right, though, which is why I was eagerly waiting to see the line-up for tonight. Changes were going to be made. I’ll admit my surprise at how much Solskjaer has changed it up, mind…

Yep, the confirmed United XI is now in, so let’s get right into it…

Check out the confirmed Man Utd XI vs West ham in full here:

First and foremost, Dean Henderson starts in goal. This was always likely for a cup match though no doubt the headlines will read ‘David de Gea dropped for United’s FA Cup clash!’…

Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues to play at right-back, with Alex Telles coming into the side in place of Luke Shaw. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof both start despite bad performances last time out.

Nemanja Matic sits at the midfield’s base, with Fred and Donny van de Beek making up the three. Yep, there’s no Bruno Fernandes or Paul Pogba (injured).

Anthony Martial starts here, giving him a good opportunity to get some confidence under his belt. Marcus Rashford plays off the left-hand side, with Mason Greenwood starting over on the right.

The big news is Amad Diallo taking a spot on the bench. He’s sitting there alongside Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw and the aforementioned Fernandes.

Come on you Reds!
