The confirmed Man Utd XI for the game vs Wolverhampton Wanderers has now been named by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer…
The mathematics is simple. Win tonight and Manchester United end the evening in second place. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves huge credit for that, but the job is nowhere near complete.
This is a Red Devils squad that are starting to believe that major trophies are on the horizon. Winning breeds confidence. let’s continue our great form tonight with a massive three points against an excellent opponent.
Speaking of Wolves, they’re not going to make it easy on us. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side play some lovely football themselves, while the likes of Adama Traore, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves will give anyone a game.
Changes were always going to be made for this one. Solskjaer has a responsibility to keep this squad fit. One has been enforced, though, with Victor Lindelof missing through injury.
There are a few big names returning to the team, though, so let’s get right into it now that the XI has been confirmed…
Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Wolves in full:
David de Gea starts in between the sticks, which was always to be expected for this one.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka returns from injury which is a massive lift, while over on the left, Alex Telles plays. Harry Maguire gets the nod, he captain’s the side, with Eric Bailly completing the back four.
Nemanja Matic starts in that holding midfield role, offering a breather to Scott McTominay. Paul Pogba comes into the team in place of Fred, with Bruno Fernandes starting as per usual.
Mason Greenwood is included here from the off and the Englishman could desperately do with a goal. Marcus Rashford presumably plays off the left-flank, with Edinson Cavani starting this game as the main striker.
Daniel James has shaken off a knock to get a spot on the bench, alongside the likes of Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek.
