Manchester United overcame a poor Liverpool side 3-1 at the weekend, without their captain Wayne Rooney who missed the match due to a hamstring problem he picked up whilst on international duty.
Louis van Gaal met the media today and confirmed that the skipper would not travel for the game in Eindhoven tomorrow night, but hopefully he’ll be back in contention for the game against Southampton on Sunday.
That means we could see a full debut given to Anthony Martial, who scored his first Old Trafford goal at the weekend. However the more likely options is Marouane Fellaini as Louis van Gaal will like to go with experience in United’s first Champions League group game.
Manchester United’s travelling squad:
David De Gea, Sergio Romero; Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Paddy McNair, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia; Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Juan Mata, Ashley Young; Memphis Depay, Marouane Fellaini, Anthony Martial, James Wilson.
