Our confirmed MUFC XI for the Carabao Cup game vs Aston Villa is now in…
Manchester United Football Club have been improving week-on-week under Erik ten Hag, with the Dutchman slowly beginning to implement his style.
The lads are playing some decent stuff of late, though the 3-1 loss away at Aston Villa on Sunday stung. The players just didn’t perform to their standards. Luckily, they have a chance for redemption less than a week later, as United take on Villa in the EFL Cup.
A place in the fourth round is at stake. Though managed by Unai Emery, Villa will be keen to impress their new boss and go on a cup run of their own.
Anyway, the all-important team news is now in, with Ten Hag making a few changes, though the base of the team remains somewhat similar. Let’s get right into it.
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Aston Villa in full here:
Martin Dubravka comes into the team for his full United debut, with the goalkeeper keen to impress and begin to push David de Gea for those regular starts.
Over on the right-hand side of defence, Diogo Dalot gets the nod ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Portugal international will be suspended at the weekend, so this inclusion makes sense. Tyrell Malacia has been out of the team recently, so this is a good chance for him to prove his worth. Victor Lindelof starts, alongside Harry Maguire.
Fred comes into the line-up here, partnering Fred in those deeper midfield positions. Donny van de Beek also starts. Presumably, the Dutchman will be playing in that #10 position.
Bruno Fernandes will likely start off the right-hand side, with Marcus Rashford operating from the left flank. The fit-again Anthony Martial will lead the line.

Very poor start with passing ball only backwards. Harry Maguire still got no idea what he is doing to the the team as a captain instead of making them move forward. Lots of errors and mistakes cause them to lose.
Again lots of mistakes by Fred and his wrong passes. Have to remove him sooner.
Again the wrong pass from Fred. If he is not removed you could see Man.Utd already losing.
Congrats to Fernandez and Martial. Fernandez and Dalot also and McTominay and Malacisa playing well.
