The confirmed MUFC XI for our game vs Atletico Madrid is now in…
Manchester United Football Club play what is their biggest game of the season so far in less than one hour. The Red Devils simply have to progress tonight, in order to keep their Champions League dream for next season alive.
With the tie finely poised at 1-1 despite being outplayed in the first leg, Ralf Rangnick’s side have a chance to pull off something special. Make no mistake about it, Old Trafford will be absolutely rocking this evening. Hopefully, being roared on by the fans will spur our lads onto a memorable display.
The game itself will be finely balanced. The two sides match up relatively well together on the whole, though there has been one or two bold team news calls made by our German boss.
Anyway the line-up is now in, so let’s run through it.
Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Atletico Madrid in full here:
Perhaps the easiest player to select was David de Gea. The superstar Spaniard has been in excellent form again this season, with the homegrown Atletico Madrid fan going to be in for a tough evening.
Diogo Dalot does get the nod over Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, while Alex Telles starts ahead of the unfit Luke Shaw. Raphael Varane plays alongside Harry Maguire, forming our now customary defensive duo.
Scott McTominay is included from the off, as is Fred, which means there is no place in the side for Paul Pogba. He’s on the bench, with Bruno Fernandes returning to the XI after his bout of Covid-19.
Cristiano Ronaldo is made for nights like this and I get the feeling we could see something special from him this evening. To his right and left respectively is Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho.
Come on lads!
