Our confirmed MUFC XI for the game vs Brentford is now in…
Manchester United put in an encouraging performance away at Aston Villa last time out, though the end result was pretty disappointing.
In the end, our porous core came to the fore when we needed them to remain stern – highlighting the defensive issues this squad currently has.
Next up is another potential banana skin for the Old Trafford club – a trip to Brentford. I’ve been mightily impressed with the Premier League newcomers this season and make no mistake about it, they can cause the upset if we’re not at our best.
Anyway, the team news is now in, with Ralf Rangnick welcoming back a certain Portuguese star…
Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Brentford in full here:
David de Gea obviously keeps his place in between the sticks, after another brilliant display last time out.
Diogo Dalot remains the right-back for this one as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still suffering with an illness. Alex Telles also plays, with Luke Shaw not in the squad. Interestingly, Victor Lindelof remains ahead of Harry Maguire in the pecking order. He’ll partner Raphael Varane.
Scott McTominay should be feeling fit after missing the last game through suspension. He starts alongside Fred in that deeper midfield role. Bruno Fernandes will play in the #10 position.
Cristiano Ronaldo does lead the line after overcoming a minor injury that caused him to miss the Villa game. On his right, Mason Greenwood starts, with Anthony Elanga deservedly keeping his place in the XI.
There’s also plenty of quality on the substitutes bench if we so need it.
