Confirmed MUFC XI vs Brentford (Premier League home, 2022/23)

The confirmed MUFC XI for their game vs Brentford is now in…

Manchester United Football Club are looking for their first victory of the season, with Brentford not an easy place to go to.

Erik ten Hag will have been mulling over the poor performance from a week ago, wondering what he can adjust to turn the tide in the Reds’ favour.

Well, given how thin the squad looks, it was always going to be tough to make wholesale changes. There has been just one personnel switch for this one – though it’s a rather important change.

The team news is now in and confirmed, so let’s give you the rundown of how it’s looking…

Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Brentford in full here:

David de Gea was always going to start in between the sticks for this one, with the Spaniard really the only option, regardless of whether he underperforms.

Luke Shaw does keep his place in the side, despite some heavy pressure from Tyrell Malacia over the last month or so since he joined the club. Diogo Dalot is favoured at right-back, while the now customary back two of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez play once again.

One of Fred or Scott McTominay was always going to be dropped. Sadly (for him anyway), it’s the latter. Christian Eriksen does start against the club he played for last season. It’ll be intriguing to see what sort of a reaction he gets from the fans.

The front three sees one major change. Cristiano Ronaldo starts. I guess it was somewhat expected given the performance last week coupled with Anthony Martial’s injury. Both Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho do get another chance to start. Both will absolutely have to play better here.

  1. Very poor standard to a tough team like Brentford.
Alot of blunders that causing them the loss.
Always keeping it close to the opponents goal.
    Alertness not there.
Good playing by Ronaldo and Sancho and Rashford.
It was a mistake by Eriksson but he normally plays well but to conclude. It is a very bad day for United.

  2. The Glazers are the main cause of Man.Utd’s downfall. Look at the good players that other teams like Arsneal and Chelsea who are shelling out money to get these players. No good players want to come because of Man.Utd losing. But only money can talk these days especially with football as it is the only one thing that can attract good players.

  3. Sorry to state whenever we watch training sessions, we can see the Man.Utd players running like very slow and like they are talking with each other and having fun, there is no signs of vigorous running and clearly this is what they lack speed and energy to run forward with the ball and no confidence whatsoever to take a strike and on target.
