The confirmed MUFC XI vs Brighton is now in, with the Red Devils going with a strong team here.
Manchester United are in dire need of an important victory at Old Trafford this evening. Ralf Rangnick and his Red Devils have been playing well of late, but three points simply have to be delivered by any means necessary.
Make no mistake about it, Graham Potter’s side will be coming here to upset the applecart. The Englishman has assembled an excellent team and if we disrespect them, I can see us being left with egg on our faces once again.
It’s these sort of matches that are make or break when it comes to achieving your goals in any season. For United, a win here simply keeps their top four hopes alive. As expected, the gaffer has named a strong XI, not too dissimilar from what we predicted.
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Brighton & Hove Albion here:
David de Gea starts in between the sticks once again here, with the Spaniard playing some high-level football right now.
Diogo Dalot keeps his place at right-back, in a game where he’ll be tested heavily on both sides of the ball. Luke Shaw starts at left-back again, with Rangnick keeping faith in captain Harry Maguire. Raphael Varane makes up the back four.
Edit: Raphael Varane has pulled out with illness, so Victor Lindelof starts instead.
Fred being back is a welcome boost for the whole club, not least it gives Paul Pogba at least one game off – he’s played every single match since returning and he’s more than earned an evening off here. Bruno Fernandes starts in that attacking midfield role, with Scott McTominay in there, tasked with doing the dirty work.
Cristiano Ronaldo keeps his place in the team, but I suspect that’s because there’s very few other options for Rangnick up top. Marcus Rashford is dropped in favour of Anthony Elanga, while Jadon Sancho deserves his place in the side.
Come on you Reds!
