The confirmed MUFC XI for their game vs Chelsea has now been named by Michel Carrick, with some surprising inclusions…
Manchester United Football Club have struggled against the Premier League’s best this term – that’s what cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job…
Well today, the Reds play arguably the toughest game on the fixture list away at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel has done a wonderful job with the London outfit and they’re going to be mightily difficult to beat here.
The game itself could get ugly quickly if United don’t live up to their capabilities, with Michael Carrick making a few surprise changes to the team for this one…

David de Gea is going to be in for a busy afternoon based upon this starting XI. The Spaniard has been in top form this term.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka does kee his place in the starting line-up, purely because the other options aren’t all that attractive. Alex Telles starts at left-back ahead of the injured Luke Shaw. The back two of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly genuinely leaves me feeling anxious…
The midfield three doesn’t inspire, either. Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Fred all play. I’m not sure who is going to be tasked with creating chances and joining in on the attack.
Bruno Fernandes starts. No doubt he’ll be floating around, trying to find pockets of space and look to make things happen. Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are both playing, presumably on the left and right-wing respectively.
Cristiano Ronaldo is benched, as is Donny van de Beek. It’s nice to see Mason Greenwood back amongst the subs, while Phil Jones is included in a matchday squad for the first time in over two years.
