Ralf Rangnick’s first MUFC XI has been named for their game vs Crystal Palace. Let’s see what you’ve got then, Reds…

Well, here we go. Ralf Rangnick is managing his first game in charge of Manchester United – and we’re all buzzing for it.

Working out the side that the new gaffer was going to go with was always guesswork. It’s a brand new regime, a brand new system and brand new ideas. Slowly but surely, we’ll become more familiar with what Rangnick likes to do – which will make it easier for us to get an idea of who will start.

Well, the team news is now in. I’ve got four big takeaways. Jadon Sancho starts, Donny van de Beek is on the bench, as is Anthony Elanga. Anthony Martial, however, isn’t in the squad.

David de Gea takes his place in between the sticks here, in a game where he’ll hope to have a relatively quiet afternoon.

Diogo Dalot deserved to start this one after a top drawer display in midweek. Let’s hope he delivers. Alex Telles continues to start at left-back in Luke Shaw’s absence, while Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof make up the back four.

Scott McTominay starts at the base of our midfield, with the Scotland international tasked with doing the dirty work. Fred plays for his energy, while Bruno Fernandes makes up the midfield trio.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been passed fit which is a huge boost for Rangnick, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford playing on either flank.

Van de Beek is on the bench, alongside Mason Greenwood, and Anthony Elanga. There’s no Jesse Lingard or Martial.
