Well, here we go folks, the MUFC team news for the home game vs FC Barcelona is now in…
Manchester United drew 2-2 with FC Barcelona over in the Camp Nou last week, during a game in which the Red Devils played super well.
Erik ten Hag will have been pleased with the performance, with the gaffer hoping for a replication of that display here.
Like all good teams, Barca will adjust. They also know what they’re doing in a big European tie at a great stadium, so they’ll come out swinging.
Anyway, we’re less than an hour away from go-time at this point, with the team news now in, so let’s get right into it…
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs FC Barcelona in full here:
David de Gea does start in between the sticks, with the Spaniard in super form at this moment in time. He’s was outstanding against Leicester City on Sunday.
At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is preferred to Diogo Dalot which is somewhat surprising, though it’s a reward for the Englishman’s good form. Luke Shaw plays on the left-hand side of defence. Raphael Varane partners Lisandro Martinez at the heart of the back four.
Casemiro hasn’t played since the away leg so he’ll be feeling fresh here. The Brazilian will be expecting a busy evening, though he’s more than up for the challenge. It’s Fred who plays alongside his international colleague, with Marcel Sabitzer demoted to the bench. Bruno Fernandes starts and captain’s United in that number ten slot.
Wout Weghorst continues leading the line. He was good last weekend, though all that was missing was the all-important goal. Hopefully, he gets that tonight. To his right and left respectively is Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. This is a trio that can cause any side in the world problems.
COME ON UNITED!
