Confirmed MUFC XI vs Leeds United (Premier League home, 2021/22)

Our first confirmed MUFC XI of the season is in, with the Red Devils playing vs Leeds United…

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now beginning his third full season in charge of Manchester United.

Old Trafford welcomes a full capacity crowd back for the first time in over 500 days. I couldn’t be happier.

Beginning against a rival like Leeds United is the perfect setting, so let’s get right into the all-important team news.

Sadly, they’ll be no Raphael Varane involved in this one as he wasn’t registered in time. While other new signing Jadon Sancho will be on the bench.

It looks like United are opting for the usual 4-3-3 here, though I really thought we’d see Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial start this one…

Starting with the players who are involved, David de Gea gets the nod as the starting goalkeeper in Dean Henderson’s absence.

Solskjaer has opted for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back slot, with Luke Shaw playing on the left-hand side of defence. Harry Maguire starts and captains the team, alongside Victor Lindelof.

Scott McTominay starts at the base of our midfield. Bruno Fernandes was obviously going to start here, with Fred also included from the off.

Mason Greenwood leads the line; and I could not be happier! Over on his right, Daniel James starts, while over on the left, Paul Pogba is named as a starter.

Tom Heaton, Diogo Dalot, Juan Mata, Brandon Williams and Nemanja Matic are all on the bench alongside the likes of Martial, Van de Beek and Sancho.
