Our confirmed MUFC XI vs Man City is now in, with the Red Devils gearing up to take on their local rivals yet again.
Here we go again! Manchester United’s campaign starts here under the famous Wembley arch, taking on their local rivals, Manchester City in the season-opening Community Shield.
To say preparation for this has been far from ideal would be an understatement. The Old Trafford side are once again being hit hard by the injury bug, with no defenders on the bench for this one. The Red Devils would also have hoped for more signings through the door by now, though there is still time on that front.
Ten Hag has named the strongest squad available to him and while there is quality in some areas, the defence looks somewhat makeshift.
Anyway, the confirmed news is now in so let’s give you the full rundown.

Andre Onana starts in between the sticks here, with the man from Cameroon looking to cement himself as the number one this season.
Harry Maguire has been passed fit to play here despite the fact he was doubtful coming into the match. He will partner Jonny Evans at the heart of defence. Diogo Dalot is given the nod at right-back, with Lisandro Martinez starting as the make-shift left-sided attacker.
There is a place in the side for Casemiro, who has looked a little off the pace in pre-season. Kobbie Mainoo makes his first start of the term so let’s see how his fitness levels are. Mason Mount makes up the midfield trio.
It looks like Bruno Fernandes is playing in the ‘false 9’ position here, with Amad handed a deserved start off the right-wing. Marcus Rashford completes the team.
