Our confirmed MUFC XI for the game vs Man City is now in, with Ralf Rangnick certainly springing a surprise or two.

Well, here we are again. The Manchester derby is always an intriguing affair – regardless of where the two sides are placed in the table.

That said, we may see a different approach to this game under Ralf Rangnick, than how we set up under our previous manager. The German talks about control and being in charge, that may be easier said than done here, mind.

Our situation hasn’t been helped by injuries wrecking the squad. Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani all miss out with issues here…

In terms of the team that has been selected, we’re looking thin on the ground up top and it does look like Bruno Fernandes is starting in that ‘false nine’ role. Anyway, let’s give you a rundown of the full XI.

Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Man City in full here:

David de Gea starts in between the sticks, on a day that he’s no doubt going to be extremely busy.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays at right-back ahead of Diogo Dalot, which is somewhat surprising given the latter’s good form. Alex Telles is also included ahead of Luke Shaw, who misses out completely. Harry Maguire partners Victor Lindelof at the back in Varane’s absence.

Scott McTominay starts at the base of our midfield, with both Fred and Paul Pogba also included in the side. There is plenty of work ethic, skill and quality in that trio. We’re going to need every ounce of fight from these guys.

Fernandes does start at the false nine spot, or so it would seem. Jadon Sancho is playing off the left, with Anthony Elanga starting on the right.

Come on you Reds!
