For the first time in over a fortnight, our confirmed MUFC XI for the game vs Newcastle United is now in…
Manchester United take on Newcastle United in an away game this evening, having missed the Christmas period due to what must have been a severe Covid-19 outbreak.
Here we are, filled with excitement and hope as we look to see how our Red Devils get on during their third Premier League game under the new manager.
First and foremost, it’ll be intriguing to see whether we continue to play a high-pressing game, particularly as our lads will be feeling lethargic after so long off.
It’ll also be interesting to see what formation we play. From the players named (see below), it looks more like a 4-3-3 to me as opposed to the traditional Rangnick 4-2-2-2.
We did get given some great news ahead of this one, with three players confirmed to return from injury. One of them starts here!
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Newcastle United in full here:
David de Gea was always going to start this one in between the sticks, with our superstar Spaniard going to have to be at his absolute best.
Diogo Dalot plays in the right-back slot, with Alex Telles also keeping his place in the team. Rightly so, too. Harry Maguire keeps the captain’s armband for this one, with Raphael Varane returning.
Scott McTominay and Fred have arguably been our two best performers under Rangnick so far. Both deservedly keep their place in the side, with Bruno Fernandes playing just ahead of them.
Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line as per usual, with our Portuguese superstar expected to provide the goals. Both Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford start.
Come on you Reds!
