Confirmed MUFC XI vs Newcastle United (Premier League home, 2023/24)

Our confirmed MUFC XI for the final home game of 2023/24 is now in, with the Reds hosting against Newcastle United.

Manchester United are in horrible form right now. The Old Trafford club are struggling mightily at present, while the games are not getting any easier. This evening, Newcastle United visit the Theatre of Dreams, in an eagerly-anticipated fixture.

Erik ten Hag would like a victory to ease the pressure on his shoulders, though it’s obviously easier said than done given the poor results of late.

Injuries haven’t helped, though it’s no excuse. As they say, the show must go on. So let’s get right into the team news for this encounter in Manchester. There are a few intriguing decisions…

Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Newcastle United in full here:

Andre Onana does start in between the sticks here, with the man from Cameroon hoping to have a good game to restore some confidence.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot start in the full-back positions, though it’s anyone’s guess as to who is playing right-back and left-back respectively. Casemiro looks to be playing that make-shift centre-half role once again, alongside Jonny Evans.

Sofyan Amrabat looked okay at the weekend so it’s only fair he is given another chance to start. Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay make up the midfield trio.

It looks as though Bruno Fernandes is playing in a false nine role here, with Rasmus Hojlund dropping to the bench. It’s great to see our captain back fit. To his right and left respectively will be Amad and Alejandro Garnacho.
