The confirmed MUFC XI for the Carabao Cup home game vs Nottingham Forest is now in…
Manchester United Football Club could be off to Wembley in a few weeks’ time, assuming they can finish the job against Nottingham Forest.
The Old Trafford club are 3-0 up. Though credit to Steve Cooper’s men, who played rather well last week. The scoreline certainly flattered United.
For this one, Erik ten Hag was expected to ring the changes. However, the gaffer has been consistent in regard to keeping the same core of players together. That trend continues under the Old Trafford floodlights this evening. The boss isn’t going to let any lead slip needlessly here.
Anyway, the team news is now in, so let’s give you the full rundown.
Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Nottingham Forest in full here:
Tom Heaton has seemingly edged out Jack Butland for the back-up spot, with the Englishman earning his start here.
The back four certainly has a familiar feel. Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, with Luke Shaw getting the nod on the left-hand side of the defence. Raphael Varane plays, alongside his pal Lisandro Martinez.
Casemiro is another who is given another start here, when rest felt like a viable option. He’ll start next to fellow Brazilian Fred, with Bruno Fernandes making up the midfield three. The Portugal international also wears the captain’s armband.
Wout Weghorst starts his fifth United game on the trot, continuing to impress and consistently proving his worth in the absence of Anthony Martial. To his right and left respectively, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho start.
