Our confirmed MUFC XI for the Premier League away game vs Nottingham Forest is now in.

Manchester United find themselves in a Premier League game on New Years Eve Eve, against a Nottingham Forest side hoping to benefit from the new manager bounce.

The Old Trafford club will be feeling pretty good confidence-wise after an excellent victory at home to Aston Villa on Boxing Day. It’s pivotal the Red Devils carry on with another positive result away from home here.

Erik ten Hag’s job has been made harder due to the absence of striker Rasmus Hojlund, who is dealing with an illness. Suddenly, the squad is looking super thin in the final third, though the gaffer has never been one to complain. He has reshuffled his pack slightly, putting out another strong team with getting the three points in mind.

Anyway, let’s give you the full run-down of the side.

Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Nottingham Forest in full here:

Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Evans, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen, Fernandes; Antony, Garnacho, Rashford.

Subs: Bayindir, Kambwala, Reguilon, Amad, Gore, Hannibal, McTominay, Pellistri, Van de Beek.

Andre Onana will continue here, as he looks to ensure he heads off to the AFCON on the back of some positive performances at club level.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back as per usual, with Diogo Dalot keeping his place in the side over on the left-hand side of defence. Luke Shaw remains absent. The now customary back two of Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane will play, with several injuries still hitting the club hard in that area of the field.

Kobbie Mainoo has been outstanding for this side over the last few games so it makes sense for him to continue here. Christian Eriksen adds that bit of on-ball quality and positional awareness, with Bruno Fernandes tasked with creating the chances.

Marcus Rashford plays as the main striker here, fresh off an excellent display against Aston Villa. Antony comes back into the team on the right, with Alejandro Garnacho returning to a more familiar left-wing role.

Come on lads!
