The confirmed MUFC XI for the FA Cup fourth round game vs Reading is now in…
Manchester United take on Reading tonight, under the Old Trafford floodlights with a place in the fifth round at stake.
Credit where it’s due, Erik ten Hag hasn’t underestimated any opponent to date, typically going as full strength as possible in these cup competitions.
The Dutchman doesn’t want to run the risk of being dumped out due to excess rotation. Instead, the gaffer has kept a real core of the same players together, despite the fact United play a huge number of matches in a condensed period.
Tonight’s team news is now in, with the gaffer continuing with more of the same in regard to the team. Sure, there are one or two minor changes, but aside from that, the lads will go again. So let’s get right into it.
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Reading in full here:
David de Gea keeps his place in between the sticks, during a match that felt like a good time to give either Tom Heaton or Jack Butland a go.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was always going to be involved here, with Diogo Dalot nursing injury. On the left-hand side of defence, Tyrell Malacia continues. The regular back two of years gone by, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, have been reunited here.
Casemiro starts at the heart of midfield, again, this felt like a good time to rest him but he does get the nod. As does Christian Eriksen, who looked rather tired at the end of the game in midweek. Bruno Fernandes starts in that number ten slot.
Wout Weghorst will be feeling confident fresh off his first goal for the club. He’ll be looking to add to that tally here, with help from Antony and Marcus Rashford on his right and left respectively.
Come on you Reds!
