Confirmed MUFC XI vs Watford (Premier League away, 2021/22)

The Red Devils are back. Ahead of their first game in two weeks, let’s get right into the confirmed MUFC XI vs Watford…

Well, here we go again. After a fortnight off, Manchester United return with an away game against Watford. There can be no ifs, buts or maybes, the Red Devils simply have to win this game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job is already hanging on by a thread so he’ll be hoping to see a positive response from his players here. As for the game itself, Watford will likely sit back and look to hit us on the break. With that in mind, creativity with the ball at feet has to be the order of the day.

The team news has now been confirmed, with everyone expecting to see Donny van de Beek involved. Sadly, he’ll be amongst the substitutes yet again…

I’ll start by saying this. I thought we’d see way more changes made than there has been. Solskjaer’s refusal to try something different may well cost him his job.

David de Gea starts in between the sticks as per usual, with the Spaniard hopefully having a quiet afternoon.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka gets the nod at right-back, with Luke Shaw in the team over on the left-hand side of defence. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof make up the back two.

Scott McTominay has overcome illness in time to start this one, with Nemanja Matic preferred to Van de Beek in midfield. Bruno Fernandes always starts when fit.

Cristiano Ronaldo is another whose name will always be on the sheet when available. He’ll have youth either side of him on the wings. Jadon Sancho will presumably play from off the right, with Marcus Rashford on the left.

Up the Reds!
