MUFC have confirmed their starting XI ahead of the EFL Cup game vs West Ham United.
Manchester United take on West Ham United for the second time in the space of four days this evening. This time around, though, it’s in the EFL Cup.
If we’re honest, this tournament is probably low down on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority list, though the Baby Faced Assassin isn’t going to go out of his way to get knocked out. He’ll compete and fight to win it – while resting some first-teamers in the process.
It’s only natural that Solskjaer wants to protect his main stars, while getting some minutes for the fringe players who are chomping at the bit.
Changes were always going to be made, in fact, a full starting XI has been drafted in for this one…

Dean Henderson starts in between the sticks for the first time this season, as he’s now back and available after a serious bout of Covid-19.
Diogo Dalot will get the nod in the right-back slot, with this game a genuinely excellent opportunity to see what he can do. Alex Telles, another long-term absentee, makes his return. The back two has a fresh new look of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly. I actually like this pairing so I feel good there.
Nemanja Matic starts and captains the side, in a game where he’ll be tasked with mopping up and doing the dirty work. Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard both play in midfield.
Jadon Sancho starts off the left-wing, with Juan Mata making his first appearance of the season over on the right. Anthony Martial leads the line.
Come on you Reds!
