MUFC kick off their Europa League campaign this evening vs Young Boys, with the all-important team news now in…
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Champions League campaign kicks off here. Manchester United take on the Young Boys of Bern in their first match of the tournament.
Although this looks like our easiest opponent on paper, these guys are in the Champions League for a reason and they must not be underestimated.
Our Baby Faced Assassin definitely isn’t taking them lightly if the team news is anything to go by, that’s for sure. United have gone particularly strong, changing the team up slightly, but not too drastically for it to impact the players in terms of familiarity.
Anyway let’s get right into it…
Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Young Boys in full here:
David de Gea does start in between the sticks, though I’d imagine Dean Henderson would have played if he was fit.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at the right-back in this one, while Luke Shaw gets the nod over on the left-hand side of defence. Harry Maguire starts and captain’s United once again here, partnering Victor Lindelof instead of Raphael Varane.
Donny van de Beek starts. This is not a drill. The Dutchman deserves this opportunity and hopefully, he takes it with both hands. Fred also plays following his fallout with the Brazilian FA. Bruno Fernandes gets the nod in that attacking midfield role.
Cristiano Ronaldo leads the line which surprises me a little bit. I assumed he’d be rested here. Jadon Sancho plays off the right-wing, while Paul Pogba completes the line-up.
There’s plenty of quality on the bench in the form of Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, Mason Greenwood and Jesse Lingard.
