Confirmed Starting XI: Burnley vs Manchester United – Ashley Young starts

Amidst all the Alexis Sanchez excitement, it’s easy to forget that there is a game of football to be played.

Jose Mourinho’s men head to Burnley to take on Sean Dyche’s resilient side, who managed to take a point away from the meeting between the two at Old Trafford just a few weeks ago.

Anyway, the team news is in, and the manager has named a strong starting XI. Although there is one surprise.

David de Gea starts in goal, with Ashley Young coming into the team in place of Luke Shaw. Perhaps the young man just needs a rest, but I feel it’s tough on the former Southampton starlet. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling start together again, with Antonio Valencia making up the back line.

Nemanja Matic will sit in that holding midfield role just in front of the defence, with Paul Pogba presumably playing slightly further forward. Juan Mata starts, as does Jesse Lingard. Anthony Martial continues to keep Marcus Rashford on the bench, with Romelu Lukaku leading the line as per usual.
