Manchester United Football Club are all ready for action now, with their FA Cup tie against Chelsea looming. A place at Wembley Stadium in the semi-final is at stake, and there are some huge names waiting for the eventual winner. The team news is in, and it looks strong.
First and foremost, it is worth pointing out that Marcus Rashford does in fact START! Despite reports suggesting he’d miss the game through an illness. This is fantastic news for the Red Devils, as at least they have a recognised striker leading the line. However, both Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial do miss out.
It certainly looks as though we’re playing a five-at-the-back formation in order to match Chelsea. Honestly, this seems like a real risk in my opinion, because we didn’t look great in that system on Thursday, and our opponents are far more experienced playing it.
There is also a rare start for Ashley Young, and it’s obvious why he gets the nod because he’s a hard worker who’ll hurry and harass Chelsea all evening long.
We need a huge performance from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan if we’re to have any chance, so let’s hope our star duo perform.
Check out the starting XI here:
De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Herrera, Pogba, Young, Mkhitaryan & Rashford.
Subs: Romero, Bailly, Blind, Carrick, Fellaini, Lingard & Mata.
