Confirmed Starting XI: Liverpool vs Manchester United – Fellaini starts

Manchester United take on Liverpool this afternoon, with Louis van Gaal’s side looking extremely depleted due to a whole host of injuries. That has meant the Dutchman will be without both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick, so Marouane Fellaini will continue in the midfield.

The side has remained unchanged from the team that played out a thoroughly entertaining 3-3 draw away at Newcastle, and if the defence can get back to their best, whilst the attack maintain that superb counter attacking ability.

Liverpool against United is always one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures on the calendar, and the game today is certain to be no different as Jurgen Klopp and Louis van Gaal go head-to-head for the first time in the Premier League.

Starting XI

De Gea; Young, Smalling, Blind, Darmian; Schneiderlin, Fellaini; Lingard, Herrera, Martial; Rooney.

Subs:  Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, McNair, Varela, Pereira, Mata, Memphis.
