Confirmed Starting XI: Man City vs Man United (Premier League, 2019)

Well folks, derby day is here and Manchester United have a real opportunity to send out a message to their noisy neighbours this afternoon.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer actually has an excellent record against the so-called bigger sides since being named Red Devils manager, and after an excellent display in midweek, I don’t see any reason why that cannot continue here.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be in buoyant mood too, though, but United have every chance at further denting their title hopes. Anyway, the Man United starting XI is in, with the boss making two changes from last time out…

Of course David de Gea keeps his place in between the sticks. The superstar Spaniard will be in for a busy afternoon, though we all know his capabilities.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays at right-back. He’ll be tasked with keeping Raheem Sterling quiet, which is no easy task. Somewhat surprisingly, Luke Shaw comes into the starting line-up in place of Ashley Young, while Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof make up the back four.

Scott McTominay was an absolute monster in midweek and he’ll have to repeat that performance today. Fred starts, as he looks to make a keen impression in a derby, while Jesse Lingard is also included.

Anthony Martial does start after overcoming injury. We need a massive game from the Frenchman today. Daniel James plays on the right while Marcus Rashford starts from off the left.

Come on boys!
