Manchester United Football Club are about to find out whether they can compete with the big boys.
Jose Mourinho’s men will play Juventus in their own backyard this evening, in a game that’ll be a real test of the players’ mettle.
The team news is in, with the self-proclaimed Special One making two changes from the team that beat AFC Bournemouth at the weekend.
David de Gea plays, with the now usual back four in front of him. Ashley Young starts at right-back, while Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof sit at the heart of defence. Luke Shaw continues his run of starting every single game this term.
The first change comes with Ander Herrera breaking through into the line-up. After an excellent second-half on Saturday, it always felt like he’d start in the place of Fred. Nemanja Matic gets the nod, with Paul Pogba returning to Turin for the first time since leaving Juve.
Alexis Sanchez leads the line and his movement could prove to be pivotal. Anthony Martial plays, with Jesse Lingard coming into the team as Juan Mata drops to the bench. Perhaps Marcus Rashford can consider himself somewhat unlucky to remain a substitute.
