The starting line-ups are in, and we’re just an hour away from the biggest game of our season so far. Manchester United and RSC Anderlecht are finely poised at 1-1, and we really need a positive result to secure a place in the final four of a major European competition.
As anticipated, Jose Mourinho has named a supremely strong XI. Sergio Romero comes in to continue his run as our cup goalkeeper, let’s hope he’s in good form.
The back four is made up of usual suspects including Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo. To my surprise, they are joined by Luke Shaw who has been given a chance to impress in a vital match.
The midfield pairing of Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick brings that perfect mix of raw ability and experience, and they should be able to get the job done.
Unfortunately, there is no spot in the line-up for Martial as he has to settle for a place on the bench. Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard continue to play, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming into the mix. No doubt they’ll be feeling fresh after being rested at the weekend.
