Confirmed Starting XI: Manchester United vs West Ham – Juan Mata captain

Manchester United Football Club take on West Ham in just under one hour, with Jose Mourinho hoping to back up that excellent midweek performance in the Premier League this afternoon. The visitors are West Ham, who have been pretty horrendous away from home so far this term.

The team news is in, and as per usual, the gaffer has sprung a surprise or two. Jesse Lingard makes a start, and the manager has also recalled Marcus Rashford to the starting eleven. Everybody’s favourite Spaniard, Juan Mata, has been named captain once again.

The front four has bags of pace, creativity and ability on the ball, and hopefully, if Zlatan Ibrahimovic has his shooting boots on we should be able to put the ball in the back of the net a few times and keep our decent form going.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Wayne Rooney and Bastian Schweinsteiger have been named on the bench. There are a few notable absentees from the squad too, with Memphis Depay, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial all missing out.

Confirmed Starting XI

De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian, Herrera, Pogba, Rashford, Mata, Lingard, Ibrahimovic.

Subs: Romero, Blind, Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Mkhitaryan, Rooney, Young.
