Jose Mourinho will lead his Manchester United team into battle for the first Premier League game of the season. The Red Devils take on West Ham United, in a game that’ll surely excite. It all starts here again, and the first starting XI of the season is in.
All the usual suspects start, including the likes of David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. The manager clearly wants to get a win on the board in the opener, and hopefully, the strong team he has picked will do exactly that.
There is also a Premier League debut for Nemanja Matic, who was an absolute beast in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid. It’s also nice to see Eric Bailly back involved after his European ban.
Confirmed Starting XI:
David de Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Blind; Matic, Mata, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Lukaku.
The game certainly won’t be an easy one. Slaven Bilic himself has made some excellent signings this summer, including the Premier League return of Chicharito – who undoubtedly will be keen to score against his former employers.
I’m just happy to have football back. Heck, the last few months without it have been painful, and I think we’re in for a season to remember this time around. Manchester United have a real shot at a title challenge in my opinion.
