Manchester United take on Newcastle United this afternoon, with the Red Devils looking to bounce back with a huge three points before the international break.
Simply put, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs a win. This United team is lacking in confidence more than quality, while injuries are certainly playing their part.
Again, this team is feeling the effects of several key players being sidelined, but Solskjaer has now named his starting line-up for the game against Newcastle…
David de Gea keeps his place in goal and I suspect he’ll have a busier afternoon than many think – particularly with the back-four in front of him being fairly make-shift.
Ashley Young plays at left-back in Luke Shaw’s absence, while Diogo Dalot comes into the team instead of the injured Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Axel Tuanzebe gets a deserved start at centre-half while Harry Maguire keeps his place in the team.
Scott McTominay rightly plays, while Fred keeps his place despite a poor outing against AZ Alkmaar. Andreas Pereira is lucky to remain in the team – he can thank Paul Pogba’s injury for that.
Marcus Rashford leads the line, with Daniel James on his left and Juan Mata getting the nod over on the right. Hopefully, this team has enough cutting edge to take all three points.
