Confirmed Starting XI: Southampton vs Man United (2019 Premier League)

Manchester United take on Southampton this lunchtime, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for a win to take into the international break.

The game is hugely important despite the season being so young. The Red Devils need to go out there and send out a message by putting in a convincing display.

That’s easier said than done, mind. Southampton are a decent team with an excellent manager. With injuries building up for United, Solskjaer has a thinner squad than usual to choose from, but the starting XI is now in

David de Gea keeps his place despite an error last week, with three of the back four remaining the same as Ashley Young comes in for the injured Luke Shaw.

Paul Pogba plays alongside Scott McTominay, while Andreas Pereira comes in for Jesse Lingard. Juan Mata also gets the nod in place of the injured Anthony Martial.

I thought this would be an option for Mason Greenwood to play from the beginning of a match but unfortunately, he remains on the bench alongside Tahith Chong.

Hopefully, the Reds can go out there and show the world that they’re the real deal. This team is talented, they just need to click into gear and prove it.
