Cristiano Ronaldo has given his shirt to a poor steward he pelted with a misplaced shot in the warm-up against Young Boys.
Manchester United endured a night they’ll quickly want to forget in Bern yesterday. The Old Trafford club were beaten 2-1, deep into injury time, following a Jesse Lingard error.
It’s no secret that Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s red card was the turning point, after Cristiano Ronaldo has given United the lead.
Although our number seven hit the net brilliantly in the 19th minute, in the warm-up, he’d prove that Ronaldo too, is human at times… Sadly, the Portuguese would fire an errant shot straight at a steward, who would feel full force of the blow and immediately hit the deck.
Following the game, Ronaldo made the incredible gesture of gifting this steward his match-worn shirt. She certainly looked far happier after that!

It’s often stated that Portuguese people are amongst the nicest in most footballing dressing rooms and that’s certainly the case here. The staff at United only have the best things to say about both Bruno and Cristiano.
This is another touch of class from the Greatest of All Time following an unfortunate mishap – but Ronnie certainly knew how to make it right.
For Ronaldo, it’s now about trying to get United back on the right track against West Ham United this weekend. No doubt this one will be an incredibly tricky fixture against a side who are capable of beating anyone on their day.
This is the trust test of our mettle. We have to bounce back immediately and prove that the Young Boys loss was just a one-off. Drop points again here and pressure will suddenly start to build.
