It seems as though a summer transfer doesn’t go by without Cristiano Ronaldo being linked with a move back to Manchester United.
That’s according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, who say that the 33-year-old has grown in frustration at the lack of progression during contract talks.
Ronaldo could be on the move should he fail to agree a new deal with Real Madrid. But we’ve certainly heard this one before…
Honestly, it’s getting boring now and I just don’t see Ronnie returning ‘home’. Heck, why would he? Particularly after winning back-to-back-to-back Champions League titles with the La Liga giants.
No doubt it’s the same old story, with Ronaldo trying to use United interest to bump up his weekly wage; although it’s incredibly infuriating if the Old Trafford club once again fall for this trick.
At this stage in his career, United are probably better off looking elsewhere. His best days are likely behind him, and if we bring Ronaldo in on an absolutely huge contract, for him to suffer a career-ending injury, we’d be left to pick up the pieces.
Personally, I’d love to see Jose Mourinho target Ronaldo’s teammate Gareth Bale. Now that’d be a move that would get the juices flowing…
