Crystal Palace believe they have a ‘strong chance’ at signing Donny van de Beek on loan: report

Crystal Palace reckon they’ve got a genuine shot at signing Donny van de Beek on a short-term deal this month.

I think it’s fair to say that Manchester United’s squad is currently pretty jam-packed. Although the elite quality may not be there all across the board, Ralf Rangnick certainly has a lot of players to work with.

One man who has often been left rotting on the substitutes bench ever since his arrival is Donny van de Beek.

The Dutchman just simply wants to be playing football and right now, that’s not happening and his career is completely stalling. A loan move away in January could certainly make sense.

Well, that could be in the offing if the latest story from talkSPORT turns out to be true. One Premier League club, in the form of Crystal Palace, believe they have a ‘strong chance’ at signing the 24-year-old on loan this month.

Understandably, Van de Beek himself is ‘keen’ to leave this month, though it’s also being claimed that Rangnick doesn’t want to let him leave permanently.

TalkSPORT claim Valencia are also keen on Van de Beek’s services, which tells you just how badly his stock has fallen since moving to United and hardly playing football. The top, top sides are no longer keen on the Dutchman.

The fact that Rangnick is intent on keeping Van de Beek in the long-term tells you that the talent is obviously there, it’s just about honing in on that ability and getting the absolute maximum out of it.

Right now, though, Van de Beek’s confidence is low and he needs to move to a situation where he is playing regularly. Although his bar is probably set higher than Crystal Palace, this could be a quietly-good opportunity.
