The Reds have now played three games in this years Dallas Cup, and made smart progress to the semi-finals by winning all of them. Warren Joyce only took a small squad with him to Texas and the tough conditions have seemingly unaffected the players so far.
First up was a tie against home favourites FC Dallas. The Keane twins were both on the scoresheet in a comfortable 2-0 win for the young reds.
FC Dallas 0-2 Manchester United
Next up came a tie against late replacements Santa Clara, United went behind twice but showed real courage and spirit to fightback and eventually run out 5-2 winners, Will Keane was on the scoresheet again, the other goals came from Cole, Lingard (2), and Thorpe.
Santa Clara 2-5 Manchester United
The final group game was against Mexican side Tigres, they were last years runners up but a solitary strike from Larnell Cole after an excellent United move booked our place in the semi finals.
Tigres 0-1 Manchester United
Three wins out of three earned us a safe progression into the semi-finals, where we will meet fellow English side Everton on Saturday, last time out we beat Everton quite handily so let’s hope we get more of the same. Ross Barkley will surely be the main threat having gained some rave reviews in the competition so far, lets hope our reserves can push on and add some more silverware to the trophy cabinet
Here’s the Keane twins being interviewed after they both scored vs. FC Dallas
