It’s fair to say that Manchester United Football Club are heading in a positive direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Credit where it’s due, the Baby Faced Assassin is definitely building something – and it’s superb to see.
Amongst his summer signings was a move for Daniel James. In fact, the Welshman was the first addition made by the manager from Norway. After a blistering start, his form has tailed off somewhat, but there’s still much to be positive about.
Without question, James’ number one attribute is pace. On the counter-attack, the former Swansea City star is absolutely deadly and he’s utilised that trait excellently this term.
Many have asked who the fasted United player is at the moment. Well, James has answered that question – naming the three quickest Red Devils, including surprise fringe star Diogo Dalot.
“It would be me, Diogo [Dalot] and Marcus [Rashford],” James said per The Metro. “I’ve not seen him at full sprint, we’d have a good race I think.
“Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] is very quick, I don’t think people realise how quick he is but [Diogo] is rapid. I don’t think you’ve probably seen it as much.”
I guess the Marcus Rashford pick is pretty obvious. After all, the Englishman is absolutely rapid when charging at defences throughout the 90-minutes, while picking himself was a given.
The Aaron Wan-Bissaka shout is intriguing. You never really think of The Spider being particularly quick, but this is coming from someone who works with him day-in-day-out…
Dalot is the outside shout. Again, you don’t really imagine the Portuguese as being a real speedster, but there you go. We’ve seen him make some gut-busting runs forward to join in on the attack and whip some fierce balls into the box (which he is more renowned for). This is definitely something we’ll have to keep an eye on in future, though!
