Manchester United’s topsy-turvy 2019/20 season is proving to be a real headscratcher. One week, the Reds look like world-beaters, the next, they’re getting hammered by Watford.
One thing that is for certain, though, is injuries have played a massive part. Amongst those, Marcos Rojo has been struggling with time spent on the sideline again. However, that didn’t stop summer signing Daniel James praising the Argentine for his aggression.
When asked who the toughest player is at United, James responded by saying the 29-year-old is ‘hard as’ and he ‘doesn’t pull out of anything’. Yeah, I wouldn’t want to be in a one-on-one battle with Rojo; he’s absolutely mad!
“Got to be Marcos [Rojo],” James said per the Manchester Evening News.
“He’s Argentinean and hard as. He doesn’t pull out of anything.
“In training, there has been a few times where you’re coming head to head and you end up jumping out the way.
“You don’t want to be in the way of him.”
I guess it’s that South American fiery aggression coming out in full flow, but for what it’s worth, United have very few players who go out onto the field with as much passion as Rojo does.
Personally, I still feel he’s somewhat underrated. Although his future probably lies away from Old Trafford, I’d much prefer to see Rojo out there than say, Phil Jones or Eric Bailly.
Perhaps if he wasn’t such a mad-man then Rojo wouldn’t be injured anywhere near as often, but then again, you can’t really take that away from him as that what makes the Argentine the player he is.
